Job Title: Sr AI Engineer 

Location: Toronto Downtown, ON - Hybrid (4 Days WFO)

Duration: 06-12 Months

Hourly Pay Rate: 68 CAD/hr.

In Person Interview Required - Minimum 2 Rounds

Job Description:

We are seeking a Sr AI Engineer to lead and contribute to the development of AI products, pilots, and enterprise solutions. The role requires designing scalable Generative AI solutions and implementing cloud-native solutions using modern AWS services. The candidate will optimize AI product performance and collaborate cross-functionally to translate business requirements into technical solutions.

Required Skills & Qualifications (Must-have qualifications that candidates must meet to be considered):

  • 10 years of progressive engineering experience. "Must Have"
  • 1–2 years of direct experience leading emerging technology or enterprise AI initiatives.
  • Strong familiarity with the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and DevSecOps protocols.
  • Core proficiency with Generative AI & LLMs, including models like GPT, Claude, and LLaMA.
  • Deep hands-on experience with AI frameworks such as LangChain, LlamaIndex, and Amazon Bedrock.
  • Proven experience with Vector and Graph databases and ETL orchestration using Apache Airflow/DAGs.
  • Comprehensive knowledge of AWS infrastructure and Infrastructure as Code tools like Terraform.
  • Strong proficiency in Python and modern web application development using Next.js, React, and TypeScript/JavaScript.

Preferred Skills & Qualifications (Nice-to-have skills but are not required):

  • Familiarity with automated AI and web testing frameworks such as Ragas and Playwright.
  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools like QuickSight and Tableau.
  • Technical leadership experience as a Subject Matter Expert in Gen AI technologies.

Day-to-Day Responsibilities (key tasks and expectations for the role):

  • Lead and contribute to AI product development with a focus on writing clean, maintainable code.
  • Design and architect scalable Generative AI solutions and complex prompt-based applications.
  • Optimize the performance of production AI products and drive continuous learning and experimentation.
  • Partner closely with Product Managers, Data Scientists, and domain experts.
  • Manage timelines, deliverables, and project milestones using Agile practices.
  • Monitor operational metrics and ensure adherence to corporate governance and DevSecOps protocols.
